Bulk is a multi-disciplinary business focused on supplying building construction material and hardware products to the Tanzanian industry and neighbouring regions. Our extensive and diverse range of products allow clients to easily shop for all their building materials in one place.

1. BETTER QUALITY & BETTER PRICES
To have more control over the quality and price of our products, we must vertically integrate. We will continuously develop our manufacturing capacity in terms of volume and product range. We will look to purchase material directly from the source to have more control over quality and pricing. We will continuously increase our logistic capabilities, work on its efficiency to ensure we have constant availability of goods and aim to have the final product reach our customers at the best price possible.
2. MAKE IT EASY FOR CUSTOMERS TO BUILD
We will continually work on our systems to increase our efficiency and ensure we have accurate information for
decision making.
We will aim to provide the extra service to customers so that they want to return to us and want to build more. When serving a customer, always remember that they are the reason we work.
We will continuously work on product knowledge so our team can serve customers confidently and advise customers on their building projects.
3. EXPAND GEOGRAPHICAL REACH
We will continually work on increasing our geographical reach through branches and distribution to serve more customers, enable more development and to attain economies of scale.

Founded in 1989, Bulk started off as a small shop located at Uhuru road in Arusha. Overtime our company has seen unwavering growth which has allowed us to expand our product range, customer base and geographical reach. Vertical integration led to the opening of our manufacturing divisions and real estate development. Present day, Bulk Distributors Limited has branched out of Arusha to Dar-es-salaam, Dodoma, Tanga and Zanzibar, with a distribution network covering the whole of Tanzania. We are exclusive distributors of various prestigious brands, direct importers of steel products, building material, hardware, sanitary ware, tiles and complimentary products. We have also partaken in various construction projects throughout Tanzania. We strive to contribute to the prosperity of our clients by maintaining a catalogue of high quality products at various price ranges. We are consistently improving our logistics to ensure materials are distributed in a timely manner. Furthermore, coming up with innovative and holistic solutions to grow and improve the construction industry within Tanzania and it’s neighbouring regions.

I grew up around construction material & hardware. As a child and throughout my life, I have seen my father gradually grow his business from a small hardware store to the
business it is today. I was interested in pursuing a career in finance; however, circumstance led me to return to Arusha and join my father’s business. Over the 11 years I have been with the company I have seen room for improvement within our business along with numerous opportunities in distribution. A mix of circumstance, room for improvement and opportunities for growth have inspired me to work in this industry.
The construction material & hardware distribution industry is constantly evolving. This leads to a lot of challenges but also continuously provides opportunities for us to grow and become more competitive.
The biggest challenge for the company is the loss of its founder who brought a lot of experience and wisdom. My father passed away recently leaving behind a great business with a strong foundation. Now we must tackle new challenges with the lessons he has left behind. Such challenges are a part of life and I believe we will be able to continue to grow and fulfil his vision.
Teamwork makes the dream work. As a family business we tend to micromanage a lot, however as we grow, we are empowering our team to make decisions on behalf of the company.
We are in a developing nation, hence there is a lot of construction and building to be done. We believe in providing quality material at the best price possible. If we can do this with integrity and discipline, we can help to play an essential role in sustainably developing our community and country.
